THE GANNON KNIGHT

What are your opinions on Taylor Swift? Do you like her music? Do you think she is overrated?

Madeline Emerson; Sophomore Digital Media Communications and Advertising Communications Major
“I like Taylor Swift a lot and I think her music is very good. She also is a strong female icon in today’s society, and I also appreciate her for her advocacy. However, I think many more female artists are just as good as her, if not better. I think people just jump on the bandwagon now and say they’re huge Swifties because that’s the popular thing to do. So, I guess I do think she is a bit overrated!”
Taylor Oehling; Sophomore Social Work Major
“I grew up listening to Taylor Swift and I liked a lot of her early stuff like 1989 and I even went to that concert. She released Reputation and that was the last album that I liked and enjoyed. I do think that Taylor Swift is overrated now. I think she got way too famous and kind of has a big ego now. I don’t understand her new music and don’t think her singing voice is that good compared to so many other artists. I think that she can write music, but her songs and signing are not my cup of tea.”
Allison Franz, Sophomore Biology and Psychology Dual major on a Pre-Med track
“I believe that Taylor Swift is overrated. Based on her actions, I will not listen to her music. I feel as though her behavior at the Grammy’s was inexcusable. In terms of her relationship with [Travis] Kelce, I think it is career motivated to expand her audience.”
