THE GANNON KNIGHT

Has living through the pandemic changed you in any way? If so, how have those experiences changed your outlook on life?

Haylee Brewer; Freshman Physical Therapy Major
“I believe that living through the pandemic has changed my life in many different ways. My mom has MS so living with someone who is immunocompromised during a pandemic made me more aware of my surroundings and made it, so I had to think about every little thing that I did. Although that was not easy, it has made me more observative which has made me realize the little things in life more.”
Brianna Barr; Junior Criminal Justice Major and Minor in Innovation and Creativity
“The pandemic has influenced my personality. Ironically, because of the lock-down I am more extroverted. I value the little things in life more, like when it rains or if it is extra windy outside, or even if I see people spending time outside just soaking in the sun. The pandemic had made me closer to my family and siblings since they were who I was 24/7. I valued my friendships more since I never got to see them in person. My freshman year of college was my first year being fully back at school and it made me appreciate things more. My outlook on life is more appreciative. The pandemic had turned me from being an extreme pessimist to an optimist.”
Blanca Nieves; Junior Criminal Justice Major
“I would say the pandemic has changed my overall outlook on life in many aspects. When Covid occurred, I was away at boarding school and out there I was 7 hours away from home, so it was very hard to see family but with Covid it made it much harder. I struggled a lot without having physical support system, so I would say it’s changed how I look at those who support me and made me appreciate my relationships more and allowed me to become more grateful in life for the little things that most take for granted.”
