Men’s golf

Men%E2%80%99s+golf

The Gannon University men’s golf team finished 11th out of 13 teams in its first Invitational of the 2016 season Tuesday.

Senior Daegan Wall was the standout for the Knights as he finished tied for 25th at the Vulcan Invitational. Wall shot even-par of 72 in the first round and 78 in the following rounds.

West Liberty took first place in the invitational, followed by Mercyhurst, then the University of Charleston, then California University of Pennsylvania, and Clarion took fifth.

Matthew Iceton of West Liberty was the gold medalist.

Junior Matt Barto of Gannon placed 29th, sophomore Billy Colbert placed 50th, senior Billy Clark placed 53rd and freshman Jordan Henry finished 71st to cap the placement of individual Knights.

Next, Gannon heads to the University of Charleston Invitational on Monday and Tuesday for its next shot at gold.
