Social Work Program holds annual Christmas Dinner

The Social Work Program will host the 35th annual Christmas Dinner and Wellness Fair from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Beyer Hall Cafeteria and Club LaRiccia.

During the Christmas Dinner, 10 to 15 health and human-service outreach programs provide housing, human service education and health information to the guests. Parents will also have a chance to register their children in the Child Identification program (CHIP).

The Gannon community can help the dinner by donating or cooking a turkey, volunteering to set up before the event or cleaning up after it, or by providing clothing, toys, money or other types of donations.

Student Living hosts open-mic night Friday

Student Living is hosting an open-mic night at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the Knight Club. Interested performers can contact Elizabeth Manning by email at [email protected] to sign up for a time slot.


CRS Ambassadors hold prayer vigil for World AIDS Day

Gannon’s Catholic Relief Service Ambassadors are holding a prayer vigil for World AIDS Day, which falls Saturday.

The vigil will take place at 5 p.m. in the Waldron Piano Lounge on Saturday and will feature a discussion, a solidarity story and several other activities.


Sigma Tau Delta to present poetry reading from Nepali poet

Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honors Society, is hosting Yuyutsu Sharma, a poet from Kathamandu, Nepal, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Knight Club.

Sharma is an author of several books, including “Space Cake, Amsterdam, and Other Poems from Europe and America” and “Annapurnas and Stains of Blood: Life Travels and Writing on a Page of Snow..”
