Grading Scale Open Forum

Gannon University’s Student Government Association will hold an open forum to discuss the university’s grading scale change 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in Room 104 of the Zurn Science Center.

Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Linda Fleming, Ph.D., and several concurring members of the Faculty Senate will first present their case for the grading scale change and then will open the floor for a question and answer session with any students who would still like closure on the issue.

Celebrate Gannon

Gannon’s annual campus-wide celebration will take place throughout Thursday afternoon.

The schedule for the undergraduate and graduate platform presentations is as follows: UG environmental science at 1:30 p.m. in Room 210 of Beyer Hall; biology and chemistry at 1:30 p.m. in Room 211 of Beyer; mechanical engineering at 1:30 p.m. in Room 309 of Beyer; graduate environmental science at 1:30 p.m. in the Wright Room of the Waldron Campus Center; electrical engineering at 2:30 p.m. in Room 309 of Beyer; nursing at 2:30 p.m. in the Wright Room and 3 p.m. in Room 310 of Beyer; computer and information science at 3 p.m. in Room 211 of Beyer; and engagement at 3 p.m. in the Wright Room.

Between 1:30 and 3:35 p.m., students will give several performances in dance, theatre and poetry in Room 219 of Waldron.

 

Travel Overseas in 2013

Associate English Professor Douglas King, Ph.D, will lead two international tours in 2013.

For spring break, you can travel to Paris, Brittany and Normandy. For May, the destination is Japan.

An early enrollment discount is in place for those who sign up by the end of this month. All are welcome on these tours – students, faculty, staff, family and friends.

Editorial board applications

Applications are available for the four section head positions, assistant editors, copy editor and photo coordinator of The Gannon Knight for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The application form can be obtained by emailing Frank Garland, adviser of The Knight, at [email protected]. Applications are due to Garland in Palumbo 3229 no later than 5 p.m. Friday.

 

Work Study Applications

In order to be eligible for summer work study positions, interested students must fill out the online application, which can be found by visiting  gannon.edu under the “Financial Aid.” tab, choosing “Work Study” and clicking on the “Work Study Online Application.” Summer work study positions will be posted Monday, April 30.

 

English Awards Night

This year’s English Awards Night will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Yehl Ballroom of the Waldron Campus Center. Several writers will be recognized and the 2012 edition of Totem will be available. Poet Aimee Nezhukumatathil will be the event’s guest poet.
