Gannon to host the Global Submit XI

Gannon will co-host several of the Jefferson Educational Society’s Global Summit XI events this year from Oct. 28 through Nov. 15.
Events will feature influential figures in politics, current events and international affairs.
The events hosted on campus are free to Gannon students with their student ID and for faculty or staff bringing classes.
Advance registration is required.
On Nov. 4 there will be an evening with former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel. Hagel was the 24th Secretary of Defense, serving from February 2013 to February 2015.
He is the only Vietnam veteran and the first enlisted combat veteran to serve as Secretary of Defense.
On Nov. 6 there will be an event called “The Briefing: Politics, the Press, and the President” with former White House Press Secretary and Communications Director Sean Spicer.
Spicer also served in the U.S. Navy.
On Nov. 7 there will be an Evening with Washington Post columnist George Will.
Will specializes in politics and domestic and foreign affairs.
On Nov. 11 will be the “Campaign 2020: Trump, the Democrats and Road to the White House” with media panelists Mary Katharine Ham, Karen Tumulty and Alexi McCammond. The event will be moderated by Steve Scully, the Global Summit XI chairman and senior executive producer and political editor for C-SPAN.
On Nov. 12 will be the “American Life in Columns” with author and columnist Michael Smerconish, host of “The Michael Smerconish Program”
