THE GANNON KNIGHT

New year brings some changes for The Gannon Knight

The Gannon Knight staff is eager to start another year of bringing students, faculty, staff, parents and the Erie community a weekly recap of all things Gannon and beyond.

This year the Knight staff welcomes back familiar faces and also welcomes some new ones as well. New to the pack is senior English major Elizabeth Gauriloff as the business manager. Junior history major Kate Robb will be the copy editor and senior journalism communication major Brittiny Lené will be the photographer/photo coordinator.

The physical newspaper will also see some changes as well. Last year we produced a 16-page issue each week, but this year we have cut down each issue to 12 pages and will only have 1,200 copies printed each week.

The reason for doing this is to put more content online and space it out throughout the week to keep our website fresh daily for our readers.

Given that we are one editor short than usual we would like to reach out to readers to write a weekly guest column for our Perspective page. Each story would be roughly 500 words on a topic of the writer’s choosing within reason.

We hope this encourages more interest in the newspaper and we think everyone’s voice should be heard.

If you would like to take this opportunity feel free to email [email protected] with your idea.

We hope everyone has a great year, and we hope to live up to the same standard we set last year as The Knight won first place in the American Scholastic Press Association’s annual newspaper competition.
