Understand who you are voting for

Understand+who+you+are+voting+for

In the spirit of keeping up with the theme of this issue, we wanted to dedicate the Knight Vision to the government.
We are not dedicating it in the sense that it is for the government, but more as a public service reminder about it.
The Pennsylvania primaries are quickly approaching. The voting will be held Tuesday, April 26, and the Pennslyvania general election will take place Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Those dates will get here quicker than you may think. We suggest brushing up on the presidential candidates’ platforms before going to vote.
First, however, we suggest you register to vote. Gannon will be providing information on the presidential candidates and how to register from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14-15 in the Waldron Campus Center, Morosky Academic Center and the Center for Business Integuinity.
It is hard to avoid the social media blasts about each presidential candidate – especially Donald Trump – but nevertheless, you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the Internet.
Although some of the posts are factual and hold some truth, it doesn’t mean doing some research to learn more about each candidate’s platform is a bad idea.
Voting for a new president is an important part of American democracy and whoever is chosen will be the leader of your country – if you are American.
Even if you are an international student, being informed on potential government leaders is beneficial to understanding the way different countries operate.
We know it feels as though this election has been going on for about 10 years, but it is almost over. All the money spent – or wasted, depending on your viewpoint – in these campaigns all will lead to one thing come November. A new president of the United States.
It is something that should not be taken lightly.
