Fair Trade Sale Friday

The Center for Social Concerns will be hosting a Fair Trade sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the Yehl Ballroom. More than $3,000 worth of merchandise will be offered. The sale will benefit Alternative Break Service Trips.

KnightLife Holiday Party

KnightLife will be holding its Holiday Party 8 to 11 p.m.  Friday in Club LaRiccia. The event is free and everyone is invited to attend. There will be food and prizes available.

Light Up A.J.’s Way

The Activities Programming Board will hold the annual Light Up A.J.’s Way 7-10 p.m. Friday. Enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies as carolers sing.

Knights Got Talent

Watch the Gannon Knights compete in the second annual “Knights Got Talent” contest at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Cathedral Preparatory Auditorium, West 10th and Myrtle streets. Teams that compete will earn points for the Knight Cup.

An iPod touch, a $75 mall gift certificate and $25 gas card will be raffled off. Winners will be chosen Dec. 10.

Holiday Gift Drive

The Gannon University Support Staff Association (GUSSA) Holiday Gift Drive will run through Dec. 8. The drive is a partnership between GUSSA and the Mercy Center for Women’s “Dress for Success” ministry. Collection bins can be found in Courthouse Commons, Student Service Center, Waldron Center, Beyer Hall, Student Success Center, Zurn Science Center and the Morosky Academic Center.

Items that can be donated include unopened cosmetics/bath and body products, new white athletic socks, movie passes, watches, journals, photo albums, phone cards, towel sets, jewelry, clock radios, gift certificates, toy cars/trucks, action figures and baby/Barbie dolls. U.S. Bank scholarship

U.S. Bank will award forty $1,000 scholarships through a random drawing process. Undergraduate students are eligible to apply. Scholarship applications will be accepted through March 2011 and are available at www.usbank.com/scholarship.

BigSun scholarship

The BigSun organization continues to help athletes succeed in their academic pursuits by offering an annual scholarship. All students athletes are eligible for the $500 award. Applications can be found at www.bigsunathletics.com and are due by June 23, 2011.

Abbott & Fenner scholarship

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants is offering a $1,000 scholarship. Interested students must write an essay answering “What have you done outside of the classroom that demonstrates qualities sought after by universities? Of these, which means the most to you?”

The essay should be between 500 and 1,000 words. Submissions can be sent to [email protected] by June 18, 2011.
