The griddle is heating up for Gannon’s biannual Mid-Knight pancake breakfast.
The pancake breakfast will be held from 9:30 p.m. until midnight Sunday in the Beyer Hall Cafeteria, located in the Waldron Campus Center.
This event is hosted by the president’s office and is free and open to all students with a current student ID.
It features pancakes and breakfast sausage as well as steaks and milkshakes served by faculty and staff.
Diann Cooper, a nursing professor, said that in her past 11 years that she has been at Gannon, she has participated in the breakfast for the past 10 years.
“It is a great way to reward students and show faculty care for the students,” Cooper said.
“Students also get to see faculty in a different way, which helps to build a sense of community.”
New this year, Campus Police and Saftey will have the Knight Watch van available.
It will offer an express shuttle for students to safely get to and from the residence halls for the evening of the pancake breakfast.

Many Gannon students come to take a much-needed break to relax and enjoy a meal before embarking on a week of exams.
Madalyn Westfall, a junior history major, said that she can’t wait for the pancake breakfast and it is something she looks forward to at the end of each semester.
“I really enjoy the time to take a break from studying and spend some time with friends before we all go on break,” Westfall said.
“I think it gives us all that little boost we need to get through the week.”
Seamus Clerkin, a junior social studies middle level education major, said he always looks forward to enjoying pancakes and other treats every semester the night before finals week launches.
“I enjoy getting the chance to meet up with friends and cool down before finals week begins,” Clerkin said.
“Pancakes and conversations are a nice mix to have a simple relax before exams begin.”
Many faculty and staff look forward to the event as well, with many of them volunteering for the breakfast year after year.
Door prizes will be raffled off throughout the night.
