Vice President of Internal Affairs

Vice President of Internal Affairs

Mackenzie Wenrick
sophomore
public health major

Why are you running for the position?
I’m running for the VP of Internal Affairs, which basically just takes care of pretty much any affairs that go on within the organization itself. I’m running for VP of Internal Affairs because I have been in SGA for two years and I kind of know how we work and how it’s structured ,so I think that with my background of being in SGA, I’ll be good in that position.

What are your goals if you’re elected as Vice President of Internal Affairs?
Some personal goals that I have are that I want to try to see how we can work within the organization and reach out more to residence life and more to different clubs and organizations to work on collaboration a little bit more. So by focusing on how we work and how we’re structured within SGA, I think that we’ll be able to see how we can focus externally as well.

What have you accomplished during your time on campus/SGA?
Last year was pretty much a learning year for me. I was getting to know how the organization worked and what was all involved in it. This year I tried stepping up and taking on bigger roles, so one of the biggest accomplishments that I’ve had was I organized a bone marrow donor drive through DKMS. That took place at the beginning of this semester, so that was probably the biggest thing. Also, I ran for president of SGA and so I’ve just basically been trying to step up and take on bigger leadership roles. That’s why I’m interested in running for an E-board position.

Why should students vote for you?
Students should vote for me because I have experience in the organization. Obviously I’m willing to stay motivated and stay determined even when things don’t necessarily work out as planned. Like I said, I ran for president, but I’m still in the organization. I’m not dropping out. I’m not looking toward other things. I’m just kind of setting a new path for myself. I think they should vote for me because I’m dedicated and committed and I’m still willing to try just as hard in this role.

Is there anything else you’d like students to know about you?
I’d just like students to know that I’m a very open person and if they need to come to me with any questions, or if they need helping accessing any resources within the organization, they can feel free to reach out to me at any time and I’ll be free to answer any questions that they might have.
