Coming off a six-game win streak and a weekend of rest, the Gannon University men’s water polo team will hit the water at CWPA Weekend hosted by Salem International in Salem, W. Va.
The invitational kicks off on Saturday and concludes on Sunday. First on Gannon’s plate is local rival Penn State Behrend at 2 p.m. Saturday. That evening the team will compete against Connecticut College.
On Sunday, the Knights will start their first match at 11:40 a.m. against Monmouth College. Gannon will cap the invitational with a match against rival Mercyhurst at 4 p.m.
Currently the Knights are 6-3 overall. Junior Gilberto Millan said the team is looking very good right now.
“The freshmen have been getting incorporated into the team and our goalie is looking great,” he said. “We also have the Sadikovic brothers, who have been playing great in the games that we have had so far.”
Gannon won’t be home until Oct. 8, when they take on Mt. San Antonio in an exhibition match at 7 p.m.
