Lil’ Sibs Weekend comes to Gannon

Lil+Sibs+Weekend+comes+to+Gannon

Gannon University will be hosting its annual Lil’ Sibs Weekend Friday through Sunday.

Lil’ Sibs weekend is a tradition at Gannon that takes place each spring. The weekend consists of many fun activities and events for students and their families.

A few of these activities include a pizza party, a movie night and even an opportunity to visit Splash Lagoon. Students can invite friends and family to come to campus and take part in this fun filled weekend.

Rachel Ochsenhirt, president of the Activities Programming Board, said that Lil’ Sibs weekend gives students the opportunity to show off Gannon’s campus, the place that they now call home, to their friends and family.

With activities that engage students and family, this event is a great way to show everyone what Gannon is about and have fun along the way. She also encourages students to not limit themselves when it comes to this event – any younger family members are welcome to attend.

Check-in for Lil’ Sibs Weekend takes place Friday from 6-9 p.m. There will be an opportunity to get pictures taken during check-in in a photo booth. Friday night will include a pizza party, games and the chance to decorate a T-shirt.

Also on Friday, there will be the first showing of “Inside Out” to get everyone ready for the weekend ahead.

On Saturday, students are able to take their family to Splash Lagoon. Alternately, there are other activities planned for students that decide to stay on campus.

Students will have the chance to take their families to The Knight Club Saturday night to see the magician Ran’d Shine with bingo afterward.

On Sunday, there will be more activities including brunch at the cafeteria, Mass and a second showing of “Inside Out.”

Taylor Beggan, a freshman physician assistant major, said that she thinks that Lil’ Sibs Weekend will be a great way for students to get engaged on campus and to also get their families engaged.

“I think it will be a fantastic way to spend time with family while we are away from home,” she said.

The cost of Lil’ Sibs Weekend depends on the activities students and their families decide to participate in. The cost of staying on campus is $30 and includes meals and the activities planned.

To go on the trip to Splash Lagoon, the cost is then $55 total.

Students can sign up to participate in Lil’ Sibs weekend through the APB/SOLD office.
