Knight announces next year’s board

Next week is finals week, which means this will be the final issue of The Gannon Knight for the 2013-2014 school year.

This year, The Gannon Knight will say goodbye to four of its incredible, hard-working staff members. Our editor-in-chief will be graduating and three staff members journey off to explore other great opportunities.

With that, The Knight says hello to a few new faces who will make up our editorial board.

Khadija Djellouli, former arts & leisure editor, will lead the Knight as editor-in-chief.

Her previous position will be taken by Brianna Woods, who currently writes a weekly fashion column. Michael Fujito, who has written for multiple sections this year, will serve as assistant arts & leisure editor.

Becky Hilker, a current staff writer, will join the editorial board as news editor. Assisting her in news gathering will be Charles Lear.

Our current business manager and advertising manager, Kat Schindledecker will also take the reins of features editor. She will also continue to manage business and advertising. Kelsey Ghering, who has written several articles about the local theater scene, will team up with her as assistant features editor.

Connor Sondel will continue to bring the latest in sports as the Knight’s sports editor. He currently does not have an assistant.

If anyone is interested in applying for assistant sports editor, please contact Djellouli.

Zak Westfall will continue to provide thousands of words’ worth of pictures as the photo coordinator.

The newspaper is welcoming many new faces. As we move over to the School of Communication and the Arts, we can expect a few changes. And with some new people to work with, we look forward to the fall semester.
