Why are you running for Vice President of Public Relations?
I really like people, and I don’t think things are communicated well enough throughout the campus. I really hope to change that. Also I think this position would be a great way for me to take charge and make a difference around the campus.
What are your goals if you were to be elected Vice President of Public Relations?
I really just want to find a way to better communicate everything around campus, from getting more of the students’ voices to making sure events are more publicized. I really want everyone to know about all the activities and events they could be involved in.
Why did you decide to get involved with SGA?
I got involved for two reasons: First, I worked with a few people who were already involved with SGA. That’s how I first heard about elections for class reps. Second, I am a commuter student, so I wanted to make sure that I was involved and had a say on what was happening around me. I knew that many commuter students aren’t very involved, and I wanted to be a little different and help show their voices.
What have you accomplished during your time on SGA?
I think I made a few accomplishments for the school, like helping with the Wellness Fair and sharing what I thought students would or wouldn’t like. But I think the biggest accomplishments I made were more for myself. I already have better leadership skills after one year in SGA, and now I really want to make a bigger change for everyone around campus.
Is there anything else you’d like the student body to know about you?
I am an extremely dedicated person. I will do the job that I say I will do. I really want this position, and I will do my best if I get it.
