Erie, Pa, March 16, 2023 — The Gannon University Knights baseball team made their way down to Florida over spring break for several big games in the Sunshine State. The Knights will be playing a total of nine games in the state, with four of them against teams from the Sunshine State Conference. The team will also be playing two non-conference opponents, including one from the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Knights have been preparing for the trip to Florida by putting in extra hours in the weight room and on the field.

The team has a powerful lineup, with several players who have the potential to make a big impact in the games. Miguel Vega who is a powerful hitter and was a major factor in the team’s success in Florida. The Knights also have a talented pitcher Jared Boyer, just named  PSAC West Pitcher of the Week. He has a strong fastball and good control. While the Knights were hoping that their preparation and hard work will pay off in Florida, and that they could use the tournament as a springboard for the rest of their season. With a strong lineup and a talented pitcher, the team is confident that they can make some noise in the Sunshine State.

The Knights had come into the game with high hopes, having loss their three previous games, looking to change their odds for the season so far. Unfortunately, the Knights’ trip to Florida didn’t go as planned, as they were their close games with 5 wins and 4 losses, showing need for more preparation for the upcoming season. Knights will be looking to bounce back from their performance in Florida and will be looking to get back on track as they prepare for the upcoming season.

The Gannon Knights women’s golf team is celebrating a major victory! The team recently won the Carolina Classic tournament in stunning fashion. The tournament, held at the Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club, North Carolina, was a two-day competition featuring teams from across the region. On the final day, the Knights put on a stellar performance to secure the championship.The Gannon Knights women’s golf team is enjoying a remarkable start to the spring season. The Gannon Knights women’s golf team won the Carolina Classic on Tuesday, March 10th, and 11th, 2023. The Gannon Knights women’s golf team entered the Carolina Classic with high hopes of a victory.

Senior, Maria Arenas,  led the team and shot an 86-89-175. She also competed on an individual level. Sophomore Ditte Petersen tied for fifth among sixty-nine players and made the all-tournament team. Junior Sarah White and freshman Zoey McClain tied for eighth with White having an 8-over-par 80 and McClain had rounds of of 79 and 84.In addition to those who competed individual victory, the team was also able to secure the overall team title with a total score of 649. This was good enough to beat out second-place finisher Emmanuel by two-strokes.

The victory is the first team title for the Gannon Knights women’s golf team in the spring season. The Knights will look to continue their success as the season progresses. This is a special victory for the Gannon Knights women’s golf team, and the team is heading in the right direction. The Knights will now look ahead to the upcoming season, with high hopes of continuing their success. With the depth of talent and leadership on the team, the Knights are a force to be reckoned with in the coming months.
