After years of hard work, Gannon University graduates were honored during the 2018 Commencement Ceremony Saturday at Erie Insurance Arena.
President Keith Taylor, Ph.D., presented 835 degrees at the ceremony, including 52 doctoral degrees, 295 master’s degrees, 467 bachelor’s degrees and 20 associate degrees.
The graduating class for the 2017-18 academic year included close to 1,100 individuals.
These individuals earned their degrees from the three colleges on Gannon’s campus — the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; the College of Engineering and Business; and the Morosky College of Health Professionals.
Eight student cadets from the Pride of PA Battalion, U.S. Army ROTC were also commissioned as second lieutenants.
The commencement ceremony featured guest speaker Timothy G. NeCastro, the president and chief executive officer of Erie Insurance. NeCastro earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Gannon in 1983.
NeCastro was presented a Doctor of Humane Letters degree, honoris causa during the ceremony.
