Why are you running for VP of Marketing and Communications?
First off, starting off as a representative I was really nervous to come into SGA but then they talked me into that. I got to see how E-board works this year and it’s like a lot more responsibility but it’s really cool because you get to facilitate a lot more discussion and help people communicate what they want. Other representatives bring you ideas so you communicate those further to the rest of E-board to bring up in our general meetings. You’re like a key communicator for everyone else and I really like that aspect of getting to be the people’s voice and helping them to get their ideas and points across better.
What are your goals if you were elected as the VP of Marketing and Communications?
My goals are to better communicate the students’ voice and help them to get what they want for Gannon or want to see at Gannon by any means that I can and bring new ideas into student government and to the general assembly meetings so that we can help to improve Gannon in any way that we can.
What have you accomplished during your time on campus/in SGA?
Through SGA, we have accomplished a lot this year. Looking at it from a class standpoint – since the freshmen kind of work together – we hosted hospitality after Mass and that was our start. We are currently working on an event that will come up in April that’s called “Hay Day,” so that’s in the works. It’s a big campus-wide event so we’re hoping to pull that off. It’s planned by the freshmen so that’s a big aspect of it. We have donated a lot of money to different clubs and organizations this year for them to facilitate different activities and different events that they want to do.
Why should the students vote for you?
Students should vote for me because I am willing to bring everyone’s ideas to the table and I am willing to help communicate through any means possible. I am open to hearing anything and I am looking to build new relationships between different events, organizations and groups on campus in any way possible – whether it’s through individuals’ efforts or groups efforts that we can help facilitate.
Is there anything you’d like students to know about you?
I am willing to hear out your ideas and I am open to questions at any time. Feel free to always talk to me and always ask me questions about student government, my position that I am running for or just any questions in general that I can try to answer through student government or through any means to help better their stay here at Gannon.
