The Gannon University Acrobatics and Tumbling team, shown to the left performing at a wrestling match earlier this month, will open its season at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Hammermill Center against Glenville State. The program is going on its fourth season and will enter its first season in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Gannon, along with three other schools, are considered the founders of the ECAC and will compete to be crowned the league champion. Last season, the Knights were 4-5 overall, 3-1 at home, 1-3 away and 0-1 at a neutral location. Their season ended on April 17, in a 285.175 – 261.480 loss to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, at the NCATA National Championships. Following their meet on Saturday, Gannon will travel to Philippi, W. Va. to take on Alderson Broaddus University in its first ECAC meet of the 2017 season.
