Erie native Marie Spaeder Haas will be showcasing her talents Friday in the Schuster Gallery.
Her collection of works titled “A Homecoming” features a number of visual arts pieces and is the first exhibit to come to the Schuster Gallery for the 2016-17 school year.
In 1981, her work was featured in the Gannon Shuster Gallery as one of her first solo exhibits.
Spaeder Haas is a graduate of Villa Maria College, and her return to Erie is a special occasion because it has been 20 years since she last shared her unique artwork with the Erie community.
The opening reception for “A Homecoming” will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Spaeder Haas will attend the reception, providing an opportunity for members of the community to meet with the artist and hear the stories and passion behind each personal piece of artwork.
Watercolor is her special area of expertise alothough she has experienced with other aqueous media including acrylics in tactile art and silk dyes.
For more information about Spaeder Haas’ work, visit SpaederHaasGallery.com. For more information about upcoming Schuster Gallery Events, visit gannon.edu/schustergallery.
