Vice President of Internal Affairs

Vice+President+of+Internal+Affairs

Taylor Hasychak

Freshman, Nursing

Why are you running for vice president of Internal Affairs?

I am running for vice president of Internal Affairs because I want to make a difference in SGA. I have been in SGA since the beginning of my freshman year and this organization has helped me grow tremendously as a person, socially and professionally. I want to give back to the organization and the members that are involved.

What are your goals if you were elected as the vice president of Internal Affairs?

My goals for vice president of Internal Affairs would be to motivate the members of SGA to become more involved in the organization. I want to create a new plan for office hours, which are weekly hours that are required for each representative.

I want to create office hours that allow the representatives to go out into the Gannon community and talk about what SGA is currently working on and informing others about the organization. I also want to organize activities that allow for the organization to get together and become closer as a whole.

What have you accomplished during your time on campus/in SGA?

In my time here in SGA I have had a lot of accomplishments. At the beginning of my freshman year I was elected as freshman class chair. As freshman class chair it was my responsibility to organize and conduct meetings with the other freshmen representatives and then give our report at our general assembly.

This year the freshman class worked on extending the hours at Doc’s Landing. We conducted surveys to gain input from the student body and we then worked together with the food service committee to change Doc’s hours on the weekends. We eventually were able to get Doc’s Landing to open on the weekends for breakfast at 10 a.m. for a trial run period.

I was also elected as representative of the month for the month of December.

Why should the students vote for you?

Students should vote for me because I am dedicated to SGA and I want to help this organization achieve its highest potential. I have been in this organization for two semesters and I am familiar with how the organization is run.

I am an organized individual who will be able to keep track of all the information and then distribute the information to the representatives. I am creative and I enjoy planning events; therefore, planning banquets, meetings and retreats will be a strength of mine.

My main strength is time management and I will be able to manage my time here in SGA while still maintaining a high GPA and being involved in my other organizations.

Is there anything you’d like students to know about you?

I am a highly motivated person that will do anything in my power to help my organization excel. I am enthusiastic with everything I do and I am excited to see the changes I will make to SGA if I am elected as vice president of Internal Affairs.

I am involved in various organizations on campus such as Active Minds, Phi Eta Sigma, the honors program and I am a new member of Sigma Sigma Sigma.
