Editor’s Fri-date night featured ‘Pulp Fiction’

Being more than halfway through the semester, we all start to notice the different mannerisms other people have and their routines. While you do spend a lot of time with your classmates, there are really only a couple of people you fall into habit with.
The more time you spend with your roommates the more you start to notice all of their little idiosyncrasies. Also, you begin to share the same habits and fall into newly found routines.
My roommate and I have begun to fall into a weekly ritual. Every Friday, after our classes are done, we begin our evening by catching up on our two favorite competition shows. For the sake of our friendship, we both become obsessed with the same competitors.
One of our favorite shows is “Faceoff” and it has become our new obsession especially since we can watch every episode of the new season on Syfy.
We have finally caught up to the season finale, but we will have to try and avoid any spoilers since we don’t watch it on its intended airdate. Our second favorite show is “Ink Master.” Unfortunately for us, the season has ended, which will force us to find a new show to devote our lives to.
After we finish catching up on our shows, we enter into the part of our night where we scrounge for food. On most Fridays, we go to Cafe or The Knight Club for dinner, but recently we decided to avoid all types of social interactions.
This has caused us to get creative with what we have for dinner because both of us don’t enjoy fending for ourselves.
Proceeding dinner, we take time to seriously consider what movie we want to watch. Luckily for us, we have the option to choose from our queues on Netflix and the wide array of films each of us brought from home. Once we pick out our entertainment for the evening, we take a short break to get out all of our built up energy for the day.
By Friday we are both extremely stressed out from our hectic week, so in order to get rid of that stress we pick out some of our favorite tunes and have a dance party of terrible dance moves. At this point we are ready to begin our movie.
This past Friday she made me watch “Pulp Fiction” for the first time. I am no stranger when it comes to Quentin Tarantino films, so I am highly desensitized to his heightened violence and foul language.
However, I thought “Pulp Fiction,” was Tarantino at his all-time high. I don’t think I have ever heard so many f-bombs said in one breath, not to mention the excessive amount of gore.
“Pulp Fiction,” might be my favorite Tarantino film to date. It’s probably his most quotable movie with “I’m going through a bit of a transitional period right now so I don’t wanna kill you, I wanna help you” and the plot is absolutely mind-blowing
I honestly don’t think I will be able to look at Christopher Walken the same way again.
