Getting back into swing of things not so simple

Juggling was always very difficult. Even as a kid the thought of trying to focus on about three things at a time and coordinate them did not go over very well.

This is why coming back from Easter break was so rough for me at first.

Once back I had to balance meetings on top of homework, projects, extracurricular activities and my birthday festivities all on top of each other.

This past weekend, I felt like I had almost no time to do basic necessities, such as eating and sleeping.

The thing about it is, I’m still not done. I have a few more things to do before I get to relax for a couple of days. Then, I should probably start studying for finals.

With all of these big projects and finals coming up in the last couple of weeks, I feel like I’m not only juggling the classes together, but I’m also juggling about nine other things on top of that.

With the end of the semester, one would think that maybe we’d get a little bit of time to study for finals instead of working on every other project that we need to complete.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the case and most of us will have to wait until the weekend, after we’ve finished all of our other homework to start on finals.

So what some people end up doing is trying to juggle working on all of these different projects at the same time – doing a little bit here and there.

Sadly, I’m not most people and I only focus on one specific thing and then I try to work on the next one, which is usually due the next day.

Like I said, I’m pretty bad at juggling.

I only have a few more days to completely finish all of the homework that I’ve been given before I replace the stress of that with the stress of exams.

It feels like I still have so much to do, but I need about two days of sleep before I’ll be awake enough to do it.

I quite honestly wish that the grades of these projects weren’t worth such a high percentage of our grade.

Yes, I understand that there needs to be some things that are worth more, but often times all of the big projects and papers are due right before finals week for every single class.

So if you’re like me, you’ll do really well on most of the projects/papers, but you’ll be pretty sleep deprived. If you’ve successfully found a way to manage your time, then you don’t need to worry about that.

Sadly, though, I know many people who have given up sleep to try to get decent grades on everything.

Maybe it’s just because Easter was so late this year, but I don’t feel like I have the time to do half of the stuff  I need to complete in a week and a half.

If that’s the case, I sincerely hope we’re given a few more weeks after we get back from break to finish up everything we need to do at the end of the year.
