Senior year approaches faster than expected

People weren’t joking when they said how incredibly fast college goes.

Freshman year went fast, sophomore year went faster and junior year – almost over – is going even faster. I just scheduled for my fall semester of senior year and my mind was blown.

College has literally brought me the greatest people, experiences and insight.

In high school, I didn’t have any desire to go to college. I just thought it was going to be another four years that I had to endure just to say I got a higher education, but I realize that’s not the case.

College is not just about getting your education. To me, it’s about finding yourself and people who will accept who you are.

It’s also about making mistakes – they don’t have to be extreme ones – and learning from them. It’s nice when you can say you learned something from yourself, even if you had to learn the hard way.

What’s scary about college is graduating. You have this routine each semester with the same people and now it is about to be broken.

I know my roommates and I can’t base our destinations after college on each other, but sometimes I pretend that we are all going to have this bachelor pad and replay our college memories for the rest of our lives. A girl can dream, right?

My roommates – Brooke and Kelsey – are easily the main reason I’ve made it through three years of college without having a major breakdown.

Yeah, we have our differences – not many – but we work around those differences because we have more similarities. We’ve gone through some crazy situations – good and bad – had the time of our lives, engaged in indescribable conversations, laughed uncontrollably and cried our hearts out.

There is no one else I would rather get through college with than those two lovely ladies.

Brooke is my partner in crime, so if I have this crazy idea, chances are Brooke is thinking the same thing. We’ve spent endless nights watching useless videos, laughing, driving around and ultimately being as ridiculous as it comes.

Kelsey is my other half. She knows what I’m thinking without even having to say a word. She’s been my roommate since freshman year and will continue to be my roommate next year. She’s incredible and knows me better than I know myself.

We’ve given “no boundaries” a whole new perspective. When people say they’re close with someone,  in my head I multiply my relationship with Brooke and Kelsey by four because we’re beyond close.

Amongst a few others that I’ve met in college – Jared and Monique – they will all be lifelong friends and I’m truly blessed to have met them.

It’s insane the effect people can have on an experience. I wouldn’t change my college years thus far nor the people I’ve gotten close with for anything in the world.

Kelsey and Brooke, here’s to college, lifelong friends and our senior year. Let’s go out with a bang like we always do.
