It’s hard to believe that September is well underway, and The Knight is already back to its old tricks of putting out a solid newspaper every week.
Where did the summer go?
It’s amazing how quickly we all adjust to the routine of being in school.
Every time that first day of classes in late August rolls around, we wonder how we’re ever going to accomplish all the tasks thrown at us.
Then – not even a week later – we wonder what we actually did with all that free time we had over the summer.
It seems weird to be discussing summer right now – it seems like ancient history.
But the truth is that summer vacation was still in full swing three weeks ago.
And this is only the first of many great editions of The Knight to come this year.
So, before we delve into the true editorial nature of this column next week, the staff of The Knight would like this opportunity to thank you for your readership.
You are the ultimate reason we put out a paper every week.
It’s hard work, but we also have a lot of fun doing it.
And every time we see someone with a copy of the latest Knight in his or her hands, we can’t help but smile.
Your readership makes everything we do worth it.
Similarly, your willingness to have your own interviews and photos in the paper is key to our success. A good news team is nothing without its sources.
We quite literally cannot do this without the Gannon community by our side, and we are thankful to have such a willing group of people.
If any student reading this has any interest in contributing to what we do, please talk to one of us. You don’t have to be a pro, and we don’t bite.
But most of all, thank you for reading. Keep it up.
