Erie, PA. – This weekend Gannon University’s Erie Campus is celebrating homecoming. This annual celebration is filled with fun events for faculty, family, and students. This year’s homecoming falls on the 100th anniversary of Gannon. Homecoming will be September 11-14th 2025.
Gannon is excited to host this event and celebrate the university. To start off the weekend on Friday the 12th the Men’s Soccer Game begins at 6:30 p.m. The Men’s Soccer team will be taking on the Ashland Eagles at McConnell Family Stadium. This game has free entry for all who want to cheer the Knights on!
Saturday brings more games and entertainment for all. The Gannon Family Tailgate starts the day off at 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Recreation and Wellness Center parking lot. As you enjoy refreshments and the beautiful Gannon community the Gannon Football team is gearing up to play. The Golden Knights take on the East Stroudsburg Warriors at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are free for students and sold online for anyone else cheering the team on.
After the game there are mini adventures, you can take sightseeing around campus. At 2:00 p.m. there are Campus Trolley Tours, GU Family Scavenger Hunt, Nash Library Archbishop John Mark Display, Schuster Gallery Centennial Art Show, Highmark Events Center, iHack Hands-on Takeaway Activity, and Old Main Strong Manion History. All these events last until 5:00 p.m. to commemorate Gannon history and culture.
The Block Party of the Century invites everyone to mingle and enjoy a gorgeous night under the Gannon Arch. The party is from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. They offer refreshments and live music to celebrate Gannon.
At 6:30 p.m. the Nationally Ranked Women’s Soccer team plays against California Pa. at McConnell Family Stadium. Come to support the Golden Knights for their home opener.
To end this joyous weekend there is a Centennial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. This event is for anyone who would like to join. Some of the events scheduled may require registration or payment that can be done through the Centennial Homecoming website. Gannon is excited to see family and friends on campus to celebrate.
