Iconic Statues from LeapFrog! and GoFish! Projects

A small collection of the large amount of recognizable frog and fish statues all around Erie made possible by the LeapFrog! And GoFish! art projects led by David Seitzinger, the Fish Commission, Erie Art Museum, and many different artists.

A very basic solid green frog named the Basic Becky Frog, standing in a field near the Erie Water Works. (Kiley Williams)
The Teaching Fish, a fish statue ironically holding a fishing rod with a placard that says “GU” for Gannon University perched on a windowsill in Gannon’s cafeteria. (Kiley Williams)
Sitting outside of the Saint Joseph Apartments is one of the most beautiful frog statues with a name placard saying “The Blue Frog (I’m in Love With). The body painted in a network of meandering lines of different shades of blue transected by spots of dark purple. (Kiley Williams)
Greeting kids entering the Tracy Elementary School is the TOADally Cool to be Kind Frog. The frog sporting a backwards ballcap and flashy pair of tiger print shorts with a quote on the pocket saying,” TRACEY, Where we KERMIT to kindness. Respect is RIBBITING and we are all a TAD-Polite.” (Kiley Williams)
Outside of the Sportsmen’s Athletic Club the Rosie the (Ribet, Ribet) Riveter Frog stands proudly with her iconic, red-spotted bandana and blue collared button-up. (Kiley Williams)
A frog titled Froganart (Jean Honoré 1732-1806), after the French painter, placed in the yard of the Presque Isle Shores Condominiums. The dark green frog painted with black and yellow leopard spots and adorned with a curly mustache. (Kiley Williams)
