Iconic Statues from LeapFrog! and GoFish! Projects
A small collection of the large amount of recognizable frog and fish statues all around Erie made possible by the LeapFrog! And GoFish! art projects led by David Seitzinger, the Fish Commission, Erie Art Museum, and many different artists.
An unnamed frog statue that is bright yellow with tiny holes in a swirl pattern on the legs overlooking Gannon students eating in the cafeteria. The body painted in a network of meandering lines of different shades of blue transected by spots of dark purple. The frog sporting a backwards ballcap and flashy pair of tiger print shorts with a quote on the pocket saying,” TRACEY, Where we KERMIT to kindness. Respect is RIBBITING and we are all a TAD-Polite.” (Kiley Williams)Outside of the Sportsmen’s Athletic Club the Rosie the (Ribet, Ribet) Riveter Frog stands proudly with her iconic, red-spotted bandana and blue collared button-up. The dark green frog painted with black and yellow leopard spots and adorned with a curly mustache. (Kiley Williams)A unique fish statue, which is a flat metal cutout with the letters “SC” made of dark arrows. The statue is posted up on the lake front near the Erie Waterworks. (Kiley Williams)A fish statue named The Gilded Lily Fish is in the garden of the Presque Isle Shores Condominiums. The statue is painted in a dazzling gold paint with a pattern of swirls and bright pink lips. (Kiley Williams)
