Service Sororities Involvement in Relay for Life

Erie, PA, March 30, 2023 — On Saturday, March 18th, 2023, the Eta Pi chapter at Gannon University participated in Relay for Life.

Gamma Sigma Sigma raised over $2,000 alone, all participants raised nearly $8,000 for the American Cancer Society.

The event was held in Gannon University’s Recreation and Wellness Center from 11am until promptly 4pm.

There was an abundance of activities available, perfect for all ages.

Gamma Sigma Sigma had the event of a handprint wall.

Tabatha Kowal, academic year 2022-2023 Service Vice President organized Gamma Sigma Sigma’s involvement for the event.

The event as a whole was an incredibly successful one; in addition to raising money for a good cause, the name of Gamma Sigma Sigma was spread effectively and positively.

When the sisters of Gamma Sigma Sigma were asked “why do you relay?” PR Chair Elizabeth Principe says, “I relay for my aunt.”

Secretary Aubree Etling says she relays for: “my family members who have had and who are currently battling cancer.”

The Relay for Life event that raised money for the American Cancer Society was an all-around success. Not only was it a positive vibe filled day, with like-minded individuals rallying together to help those in need.
