Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day around Erie

Erie, Pa, March 16, 2023 — St. Patrick’s Day in Erie, Pa is a large multi-weekend event that involves the whole community. From starting with a St. Patrick’s Day parade, the weekend before the holiday, to Erie businesses offering specials and events to celebrate.

The parade kicks off the celebration, by going through State Street and into Perry Square where the parade will end with local bands and organizations.

Celebrations continue in full swing on the weekend of the holiday, March 17th-18th. Many events are taking place in the Erie area and on the Gannon campus for students.

Erie Art Museum is hosting their 100th Annual Nicole & Harry Martin Spring Show on March 17th from 6-9pm. There will be awards and special programming at 7pm.

The Hagen History Center and their book club are taking a tour of the Ida Tarbell House and Drake Well Museum in Titusville, Pa. This event is taking place on Saturday March 18th from 12-4pm and costs $15. More information can be found on their website.

For sports fans, the Erie Otters will be home and competing against the Guelph Storm on March 18th at 7pm.

Erie Playhouse is hosting shows all weekend, featuring artists from Erie. More information can be found on their website.

At Gannon on March 17th from 7-11pm the Recreation and Wellness Center. There will be T-shirts, food, crafts, bubble soccer, a basket raffle and more.

Gannon’s Costa Rica Travel trip is also selling St. Patrick’s Day merchandise throughout the week of March 14th-17th.

Across all of Erie, many restaurants and coffee shops have featured items on their menu in spirit of St. Patrick’s Day.
