Baseball double header has positive turnout

The baseball team hosted the Allegheny College Gators for a doubleheader on Oct. 1. This fall ball scrimmage started at noon at UPMC Park.

While the doubleheader was the same time as the homecoming football game, there was still a great turnout. Most of the fans stayed through both games even with the temperature being chilly.

The Gannon Knights were hot right off the bat as balls started launching into the outfield. However, mother nature had different plans. Throughout both games, a cool wind was steadily blowing toward home plate, making a home run a near impossible challenge.

Gannon used the opportunity to see how all their new players work with one another and see the skill level of the team before the weather gets too cold to be outside. It was a beautiful, sunny day at the ballpark during homecoming weekend. Many baseball alumni showed up to support their old squad.

The baseball team will travel to Pittsburgh Saturday for another doubleheader against NAIA powerhouse Point Park University.
