Gannon prepares to welcome new vice president for finance

Gannon University will be welcoming Jennifer Lundy to campus as the new vice president for Finance and Campus Operations in Erie next month.

Gannon University will be welcoming Jennifer Lundy as the new vice president for Finance and Campus Operations in Erie.

Lundy’s first day on campus will be April 19.

Lundy is joining Gannon after serving as the vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer at Seton Hill University in Greensburg.

During her tenure at Seton Hill, Lundy is credited with providing strategic direction for the university in the areas of finance, accounting, facilities and public safety, as well as campus construction and renovation projects.

Additionally, Lundy supervised endowments and budgets of more than $50 million each and served as a liaison to the board of trustees for the investment sub-committee, finance committee, and buildings and grounds committee.

Prior to working at Seton Hill, Lundy worked at Chatham University in Pittsburgh as the vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer for 11 years.

Lundy earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Chatham, and she is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in leadership and learning in organizations from Vanderbilt University.

Lundy distinguished herself among many other candidates, including some who are currently serving in the role of vice president elsewhere.

Gannon President Keith Taylor, Ph.D., said he was impressed with Lundy’s ability to rise to the top against others competing for the job.

“Jennifer not only has the exceptional analytical, strategic and tactical knowledge and talents we were seeking but also brings a humble spirit and is eager to grow and develop with our team as we strive to best serve our students, colleagues, university and community,” Taylor said.

“We are blessed to have her join our team and to become an integral member of our Gannon family.”

Lundy sought the position at Gannon because of the strong leadership team and how Gannon has been excelling within the competitive university environment.

“For me, choosing a place to work is about choosing who I want to work with, who will help me grow and give me opportunities to continue building my professional experience in a way that is personally and professionally rewarding,” said Lundy.

“Gannon is looking to the future, and I want to help make those visions a reality to best serve the students in the years to come.”

Lundy’s main responsibility will be managing Gannon’s financial and human resources to facilitate and support Gannon’s strategic plan.

Additionally, she will lead a team of directors and managers who oversee finance, safety and security, human resources, internal audit, insurance and physical plant.

Lundy will also serve as the administration’s liaison to various trustee committees and community and civic organizations.

Lundy will take over these responsibilities from Val Bacik, who will return to her role as the director of planning and strategy to continue the university’s strategic plan and lead other priority initiatives.

Lundy is excited to be joining the Gannon community.

“I am someone who becomes deeply embedded in my campus community and I am excited to meet students, faculty, and staff and forge new friendships and community with my fellow Golden Knights,” she said.
