Study tips for upcoming finals

With finals next week, the library packed and students stressed, it is important to remember these important study tips.
Ask questions.
There is nothing wrong with going to your professor or TA for questions.
Professors have office hours to help students make sure they understand what they are learning.
It may be scary or embarrassing to ask, but it will benefit you in the end.
Study as soon as possible.
When professors tell you to start studying, they really mean it.
Life gets busy and exams creep up.
Be sure to take time out of your day to start looking over notes and preparing yourself sooner rather than later.
Be sure to take breaks.
It is important not to overwork yourself during exams week.
Every so often, walk away or do something that you enjoy, like watching a funny YouTube video.
Stressing yourself out anymore than you already are is not good and may cause you to become ill.
Stay well-rested.
Alongside breaks, naps are important.
Make sure you are getting 7-8 hours of sleep.
If you can’t do that, try to take a 10- to 20-minute nap between study sessions.
Organize a study group.
For some people, studying in groups is more beneficial than studying alone.
Make it fun.
Studying doesn’t always have to be a drag.
Simply quiz yourself, reward yourself or create acronyms to make it more entertaining for yourself.
Overall, focus on yourself this time of year.
Exams are stressful, but they are not forever.
Good luck on finals and Happy Holidays to all!
