THE GANNON KNIGHT

Looking forward to relaxation over spring break

It’s the week of midterms. I knew this week was going to be crazy, especially since I’ll be leaving campus around 6:30 a.m. Thursday on a train bound for New York City with 11 other students with WERG and Chet LaPrice, the operations manager.

You’d think that having my week shortened would mean I spent my weekend packing things for the trip, getting prepared for spring break when we return from New York City Sunday or even studying for the two midterms I have.

Nope. Instead I slept a lot, I went to the men’s basketball game Saturday to get the free T-shirt, and then I saw “The 23:59:59 Show” at the Schuster Theatre.

I spent Monday, with the help of my friend, Abbey Ritchie, making sure the study guides for our classes were done and printed because she took the initiative to type up them up and share the study guides with me since we have two classes together.

I used the rest of the day to panic about the Media Management midterm we had Tuesday morning.

However, after cramming and trying to memorize as best as I could, the exam didn’t end up being as bad as I anticipated.

I always procrastinate, so that doesn’t help. But I also worry about things more than what is necessary.

I kind of think it helps, though, because I studied so hard and the midterm didn’t end up being that bad. So, I think I did well because I studied up until the minute class started, and I basically worried for nothing.

The process will repeat for my midterm that’s Wednesday afternoon, but we’re using the class period as a review session and taking the midterm right after, so I’ll probably worry again for it to not be as bad as I was expecting.

Once that midterm is done, then I’ll have completed the last midterm of my college days. I have four classes, but only two had midterms.

And in my class on video game music late Wednesday afternoon, we’re going to be watching the movie “Tron.”

Midterms will be done, and I get to end the week with a movie before I go home and make sure I’m fully packed and set to hop on the train Thursday morning.

It’s stressful to cram five days of work into three, but once I’m on the train, I’ll be able to relax and just enjoy the trip.

I won’t have to worry about doing homework on the train ride because we return and it’s spring break, so we’ll still have an entire week to relax or catch up on anything before we return to complete the second half of the semester.

Each day, I’m getting closer to graduating, and I can’t believe we’re already heading into March.
