Gannon University seniors, keep reading this story for an amazing opportunity to get social.
Gannon’s Student Government Association (SGA) and the Alumni Association are working together to host the Senior Social, March 10 at 6-8 p.m. in Old Main.
This is a great opportunity for us seniors to learn how to socialize in a more professional manner.
However, don’t feel the pressure to be perfect. SGA President Kendra Walker said it’s a great way for students to de-stress and connect as a class and network with alumni.
You can also think of this as a way to get involved with the Alumni Association that you will, hopefully, be a part of.
While only two of us look to join the group of notable Gannon alumni this May, we as a staff collectively think it is a great opportunity to network.
There are not many opportunities to network this close to home, in a familiar area and you should take advantage of it.
It’s also an opportunity for seniors to celebrate themselves and get together as a class to go over all that they have accomplished as a class, and for the alumni to recognize them as well.
We hope a lot of seniors are able to attend this social because it takes a lot of work to plan and you owe it to yourself to go.
They say it’s important to have a large network, and it never hurts to get to know someone, their story or what they do.
Who knows? It could just lead to a job or a new friend.
Either way it should be a fun event and having your friends around will make it much easier to start talking with strangers.
To register, just search the event on EngageU and there is a link to sign up.
We hope you all attend and make some new connections.
