Famous country singer Chase Rice will be going “back to college” for a series of concerts at U.S. universities this spring.
A total of seven universities will be receiving visits from Rice including Gannon University and Edinboro University.
Rice will be performing Tuesday at the Erie Insurance Arena for both Gannon and Edinboro students, a production made possible by Gannon’s Activities Programming Board (APB).
Tuesday’s opening acts are Lacy Cavalier and Jon Langston.
Attendees can expect to hear music from Rice’s 2014 album “Ignite the Night,” as well as his newly released single “Whisper.”
Some of Rice’s most popular songs include “Ready Set Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight,” as well as a cover of “Ride,” originally by SoMo, featuring Macy Maloy.
Freshman pre-pharmacy major Lexus Frazier said she was looking forward to the upcoming concert.
“I’ve heard so many people on campus talking about how excited they are for Chase Rice to come to Gannon,” she said.
“I’m really looking forward to attending his concert and hearing some of his music performed live.”
Other universities recieving visits from Rice include Florida Gulf Coast University, UNC Chapel Hill, Kent State University, Southern Illinois University, East Georgia State College and Western Connecticut State University.
Rice’s Back to College Tour commenced in Fort Myers, Fla., on April 4.
Following this performance, Rice traveled to his alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Rice, former linebacker on the UNC football team, learned to play the guitar during his time in college and performed at dive bars until his eventual rise to fame.
Rice stated in a recent press release that he wanted to bring something fresh to UNC and other schools he will be visiting, as well as give back to the area that helped him get started.
Tickets can be purchased at the Erie Insurance Arena box office, through APB or on the Chase Rice official website.
