The Gannon University volleyball team swept both Stonehill and Dominican College 3-0 and disposed of Dowling in five sets this past weekend at the Stonehill Skyhawks Invitational in North Easton, Mass.
Against Stonehill, the Knights won the first set, 26-24, before winning, 25-21 and 25-20, in the second and third sets.
Junior Hannah Kren registered 14 kills, making it her fourth consecutive game with double-digit kills.
Junior Jordan Thiery set a new season best in digs with 13.
In the sweep of Dominican, the Knights won the first set handily, 25-11, before defeating the Chargers with set scores of 25-20 and 25-19.
Kren had a double-double, recording 10 kills and 13 digs in the match. Thiery also had eight aces in the second match.
Gannon went the distance against Dowling (5-2).
Gannon took the first set 25-22 before losing the second set 25-21. The Knights also lost the third set, 25-23, before clawing back for a 25-22 win, and proceeded to take the decisive fifth set 15-12.
Sophomore Kelsey Ansec and Kren both recorded 14 digs for Gannon. Sophomore Sarah Crandall generated a season-high 36 digs.
The Knights return home Friday to host the Gannon-Mercyhurst Invitational at the Hammermill Center.
