People love trivia, and the Gannon University community is no exception. Gannon’s student hangout, The Knight Club, is hosting its own trivia night 8-10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The evening will feature 10 rounds of trivia, starting roughly every 15 minutes.
The categories for each round include sports, movies and worldly travel, including history and geography.
Trivia winners will receive an array of prizes such as T-shirts and flip flops.
Alizabeth Leng, a freshman advertising communications major, is in charge of organizing the event under the supervision of admissions counselor Kyle Churman.
“This is basically a trial run to see if we can do this regularly next semster,” Leng said.
“We are trying to create interest in the Knight Club, and this could be one of the ways we do that.”
Trivia Night has historically occurred biannually, relatively soon after Knights with Scholars, an overnight event for high school students to come and see Gannon’s campus.
Leng said she attended Trivia Night during Knights with Scholars with her high school student.
“There was a lot of positive feedback, and we’d like to see if we can duplicate that,” Leng said.
Leng has been working with different organizations around campus to bring the event together, which she says has brought a new element to her mindset.
“Being a student and working with the Admissions Office has been really interesting,” Leng said.
“You’re creating communications and relationships between yourself and this group that will be there in the future, in case this type of event becomes a regular happening.”
Admittedly, consistency is a hopeful outcome to this event. The Knight Club, in its efforts to branch out on campus, is experimenting with this night to see if regular trivia nights are a possibility in the future.
Chase Miles is a junior theatre major and works at The Knight Club.
“Trivia’s cool,” Miles said. “It’s a lot of fun and the Knight Club has some great food.”
An added bonus is that The Knight Club also features a full menu of appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, burgers, side dishes, desserts and beverages.
You don’t have to worry about forgetting cash, because the Knight Club is also a GU Gold vendor.
This campus spot not only ensures low-priced food, but it also offers regular live music and comedy, karaoke, weekly open-mic nights, pool, air hockey, darts, cards and board games in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Knight Club is located at the corner of Third and Sassafras streets.
