Not to toot our own horn, but The Gannon Knight received first-place recognition from the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) for the 10th year in a row.

The ASPA, based in College Point, N.Y., reviews newspapers and yearbooks each year and assigns awards based on a total of individual scores in six categories.

In the content coverage category, The Knight received a score of 300 from a possible 330. In page design, The Knight scored 145 out of 175 possible points and in general plan, The Knight netted 190 of a possible 200.

The paper scored 115 of 120 in art, advertising and illustrations, editing earned 105 of 125 and lastly the creative genius of The Gannon Knight staff scored a perfect 50–of-50 in the creativity category.

We appreciate all of our readers’ support this academic year and look forward to volume 75. Enjoy your summer and we will see you in the fall.
