Vice presidential candidate Lyndon B. Johnson is ushered through the crowd as he and presidential candidate John F. Kennedy visit Erie on their campaign tour on Sept. 28, 1960. Johnson would go on to become the 36th president of the United States on Nov. 22, 1963, after JFK was assassinated in Dallas.
