The stress of classes, activities and social lives definitely takes a toll on the average college student, so it’s always nice to have the opportunity to laugh at cheesy jokes.
Luckily for Gannon University, famous actor and stand-up comedian David ‘Dave’ Coulier is set to make a visit to campus this spring.
This will be part of Coulier’s brief college tour, including stops at Duquesne University and Roger Williams University, as well as multiple stops in Florida.
Coulier is best known for his role as Joey Gladstone, or “Uncle Joey,” in the hugely successful ‘90s sitcom “Full House.”
This role was revived in 2016 when Netflix released the “Full House” spin-off, “Fuller House.”
Coulier is also well-known for his impressive voice-over ability, which is featured in multiple cartoon shows, including “Scooby-Doo” and “The Jetsons.”
Coulier’s voice-over ability helps in his comedy routines, as he tends to include many impressions of celebrities and well-known characters.
His comedic style is also very family friendly, going as far to even start a youth-oriented comedy website titled Cleanguys TV.
Coulier was also featured as part of the family-friendly, comedy tour “Clean Guys of Comedy”
Many current college students grew up on reruns of “Full House” and were extremely excited for the spinoff show in early 2016, making this a very anticipated and exciting event for many on campus.
Coulier is set to perform at the Hammermill Center at 7:30 p.m. on March 27.
Tickets are $5 for students and $15 for the public, and will be going on sale at noon Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online at gannontickets.com.
The Knight Club also has an abundance of talent visiting this spring.
“America’s Got Talent’s” Adam Grabowski will be the first of many to come to The Knight Club, performing at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Grabowski was featured on season 11 of the show for his comedy performance.
Singer-songwriter Abe Parker, whose music is available for free streaming on Spotify, will be performing at 8 p.m. on Feb. 18.
Parker will be followed by the singing-songwriting duo “Hunt for Hunter.”
They will be performing at 8 p.m. on March 11. You can find “Hunter for Hunter’s” music online at Bandcamp.com.
Two more acts will also be making their way to GU this spring. Comedian Louis Ramey, from Comedy Central and “Last Comic Standing,” will be performing at The Knight Club at 8 p.m. on April 1.
Singer Gary Johnson (not to be confused with the last election’s third-party candidate) will be featured at The Knight Club at 8 p.m. on April 22. You can find Johnson’s music online for free streaming.
Take a break and make your way to The Knight Club or the Hammermill Center to enjoy all of the talent coming to campus this spring.
