The Gannon University volleyball team dropped back to back matches this week to fall to 18-6 overall and 11-4 in the PSAC.

Friday’s match against Indiana University of Pennsylvania saw the Knights drop three straight sets, all in hotly contested games by the scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-21.

Gannon sits in second place, behind 14-1 Edinboro.

Junior Hannah Kren was the only Gannon player to reach double digits in kills with 13, reaching double digits for the 21st time this season.

Sophomore Sara Crandall led the defensive side with 10 digs, the 21st time she has reached that mark this season.

Senior Morgan Walters also dished out 27 of the Knights’ 31 assists on the  evening.

The loss snapped Gannon’s five-match winning streak, the third such streak of the season.

The Knights attempted to bounce back the next day against Clarion, but came up short as they fell in straight sets 25-20, 25-13, 25-18.

The Knight committed 20 attack errors on the afternoon, which Clarion capitalized on by hitting .352.

Kren continues to lead Gannon on the year, and is now tied for 10th place on the Knights’ all-time kills list with 1,145 kills.

Senior Lynne Hibbard is also within one of Gannon’s all-time top 10 list of career block assists currently with 243 block assists.

Despite back to back losses at home, the Knights are still 9-3 at the Hammermill Center, and return to play Friday when they travel to California (Pa.).
